"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother."
This timeless phrase began at Boys Town, an orphanage founded by Father Edward Flanagan. One day, he saw a young boy carrying another child with polio on his back. When Father Flanagan asked if the boy wasn’t too heavy, the answer was simple:
“No, he ain't heavy—he's my brother.”
That powerful moment gave rise to a slogan that moved hearts across the world. It later inspired The Hollies’ hit song in the 1970s , reminding generations that true love bears burdens willingly.
This same story now breathes new life into a painting by @SantoriniDaNFTGoat—
a modern tribute to an ageless truth:
We are called to carry one another.
We must never see helping others as a burden.
Because tomorrow, we may need to be carried too.
Let us live these words:
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
And may God help us to love one another the way He loves us.
